CONGRATULATIONS! What an exciting time for you and your family as you transition into your new roles together! You likely already received some feeding information and advice from family, friends, different health care providers, educational classes, books, social media, and the internet. With so many different ways to do things, it's hard to know what works best for you and your little one! I would be more than happy to be your professional support and lactation cheerleader by working together with you and providing care that is individualized to you and your family.
The INITIAL CONSULTATION focuses on any concerns that are present in your current feeding practices. These may be known issues that prompted you to seek help or a general assessment of how you are doing in attaining your goals. We will review medical information and evaluate examination results together. From this, we try to formulate a plan of care that works best for you and is realistically achievable in hopes of progressing towards your feeding goals. I hope to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have - whether this is your first time in parenthood or if you're a seasoned parent with some lactation experience. By the end of this consultation, we will discuss recommendations and if a Follow-up Consultation is preferred.
The FOLLOW-UP CONSULTATION is for established clients only and focuses on how the current feeding practices are going after implementing the plan of care. We will address any new or ongoing concerns that are present at the time of the visit. Changes to the original plan may be made depending on what's discovered during our visit. At the end of these consultations, we will discuss recommendations and if another Follow-up Consultation is preferred.
